Re: Question: What is a ConVar.FloatValue's expected value?

Here's the final solution:

if(cvPunishDetectionDelay.IntValue != 0.0)
{
hPunishTimer = CreateTimer(cvPunishDetectionDelay.FloatValue, tAutoTimerUpdatePlayer, _, TIMER_REPEAT);...

Re: Question: What is a ConVar.FloatValue's expected value?

I used TriggerTimer(hPunishTimer, true); as cravenge suggested and it worked.

That's just part of the description for the cvar, it doesn't affect how the timer works. I only put that in at the...

Re: Question: What is a ConVar.FloatValue's expected value?

Re: Question: What is a ConVar.FloatValue's expected value?

I use the "SpecialWarn" message to let me know if it's working.

if(iCompanionCount > 1 && iBotCount + iPlayerCount > 1)
{
flPlayerAloneStartTime[iPlayerIndex] = GetEngineTime();...

Re: Question: What is a ConVar.FloatValue's expected value?

Exactly.

When I set cvPunishDetectionDelay.FloatValue to 1 or higher though, it works.

Re: Question: What is a ConVar.FloatValue's expected value?

Basically I'm just checking for how long and how far a player has been separated from their teammates. Once the player reaches the distance limit that is set by a cvar, a special infected is spawned...

Re: Question: What is a ConVar.FloatValue's expected value?

What I mean is that, when I set the convar cvPunishDetectionDelay to 0.1, it doesn't seem to be accepted, thus rendering the timer useless. When I set it to 1.0 or anything higher than 1, that's when...

Question: What is a ConVar.FloatValue's expected value?

I'm using this in my code:

hPunishTimer = CreateTimer(cvPunishDetectionDelay.FloatValue, aAutoTimerUpdatePlayer, _, TIMER_REPEAT);

I noticed that something wasn't working and tracked it down to...
