No it's not, someone is spamming NetMSG's and garbage data through the NetChannel, they fixed the associated crash though.

Usually yes, you can try to attach gdb directly to the process.
Start gdb, use "attach <pid>" and type "continue". On a crash, get a stacktrace with "bt" and copy that. You can run gdb in screen.

You can install gdb on your server and run srcds with "-debug", this will create a debug.log file with debug informations in the mod directory.

Confirmed so far, on a VPS you usually get a shared Kernel, you can't modify it without access to the machine where the VPS is hosted on.
