That is misinformation. That only applies to extensions compiled against the CS:GO SDK. Socket is game-independent.

Socket doesn't "support" any HTTP requests, it's a low level socket library.

Logging into Steam requires you to establish an SSL connection, which you cannot do with this.
You could go via your existing PHP script though.
