Best way is using mysql_pconnect().

I like how oracle drivers works with tns names.
You have a connection pool for a unique name (can have more than 1 different pool). Then you can tell your app...

That's the point of threaded queries. It deals with latency and database performance problems.

I'm not saying this is good or bad, I'm just saying threaded queries it's on top and non-threaded...
