According to that site, setting the value to "64" will "hide miscellaneous HUDs (hides teammates health)."

The only drawback is that you need sv_cheats to use that command.

Did you try it with the console names?

"weapon_rifle_m60"
"weapon_grenade_launcher"

The setting is only broken for melee weapons but guns should work fine.
