Well, it works for me :P Ban is successfully added to the list and prevents player from connecting.

Where are the settings stored locally now? Because it seems that none of my admins has flags after the server lost a connection with the database.

Unfortunately I'm using a paid hosting service and can't just enable an extension, so I guess I'll stick with an old login method. Anyway, thanks for the hint.
