Also i think that if you go in console and type sv_removehumanlimit 1 for example it won't work but if you type sm_cvar sv_removehumanlimit 1 it will. Try it out.

When I don't enable it, it doesn't ask for a password and does everything fine except that it won't allow more than 8 connections.

The password being asked is from L4D2 itself it doesn't seem to...

I don't have downtown at all installed.

also when I enable sm_cvar sv_force_unreserved 1
and "connect IP:27015" it then proceeds to ask me for a password but it's not the sv_password or the rcon...

thanks for the reply, no matter what I do I can't seem to get more than 8 to join. Here's my config. I have 6 survivor bots showing up when I start the game and we can go 4vs4 or 6vs2 and so on but...

If your renting from Gameservers do you still need to have the "+maxplayers 12" on the command line ?
