Can automatic bot pruning be disabled? Or can I increase the pruning limit without also spawning the extra bots right from the start?

I know bots won't be pruned past the abm_minplayers count, but...

I've been using l4d_gear_transfer from 5/13/2012 without issue. Last Stand update hits, and Left 4 Dead 2 crashes when loading into a map or loading the plugin. I isolated it to just the gear...
