Maybe it's a plugin conflict? Have you tried running UMC on a "out of the box" sourcemod installation?

I have no problems with this plugin.

Yes I am using a new stable dev version (1.6.2). I think I will downgrade to 1.5.x again, since the problems were caused by meta mod and not sourcemod.

This Steam ID stuff still confuses me, but...
