Any update on this?

It's really annoying to spawn on my own server and be outside the safe room with no weapon or medpack.

I'm not sure why I connect slow. It's not a lack of computing power...

This can be done with a couple cvars.

z_lunge_release 1
tongue_allow_voluntary_release 1

Just pounce again with the hunter to pounce off of someone.
Right click with the smoker to let go.

I've seen this happen twice on my server. Usually in the 40k-50k hp range.
I didn't know what was leading up to this.

Until there is a fix for it, I just slay them using admin commands.

Uh.... It's not any different than modding any other game. If I run a private server and play with my friends the way we want to, then we should have the option to do so.
There are many other ways...

I hope someone can come up with a fix for this.

I run a modded server and it was nice to have 10-12 swings before being fatigued.

And don't tell me to learn to play. Normal old versus got...
