Re: Getting attacked by a lot of UT/CS servers
You know of all the things I didn't even do that yet, so yeah I'll open up a ticket.
I don't know about OVH's support though, it seems to be good in BHS but sucks in Roubaix.

Re: Getting attacked by a lot of UT/CS servers
Well I guess it's useless, I'm receiving so much packets my machine can't filter it anymore and the server goes down. Something like 8000-9000 routers hit my box now. I guess I need external...

Re: Getting attacked by a lot of UT/CS servers
Yep! Switched those to kmp as well. Works perfectly.
I've seen those tsource engine queries as well, isn't that the A2S spam thingy? I run plugins to block that but an iptables rule might be more...

Re: Getting attacked by a lot of UT/CS servers
Well I think I got there mostly. I got SSPD attacked by about 6000 routers, so much that iptables couldn't handle it to block everything (look at the list http://mgftw.com/f2b.txt) and although it...

Re: Getting attacked by a lot of UT/CS servers
HUGE UPDATE! Switching to algo kmp looks like it did the trick!!! These are my rules now and work! (for now) I got a huge log now of SSPD floods:

Re: Getting attacked by a lot of UT/CS servers
The attack is going to my game server port, I found out which attack is causing the game servers to go down.
I can easily limit and drop the DrDos packets with the following rule which works...

Re: Getting attacked by a lot of UT/CS servers
Yeah I do have ddos protection with OVH, the incoming traffic is only up to 100 mbit which fills my pipe for 1/10th (gigabit) but my servers are going down either way despite fail2ban/iptables. I've...

Getting attacked by a lot of UT/CS servers
Hi all,
I'm receiving reflection attacks from a huge list of game servers, mostly which are registered on game tracker / game monitor.
Most servers are CS 1.6 servers. Unreal Tournament and Call...

Re: L4D2 server - high cpu usage and lags
Could be but the fact remains that virtual servers are not suitable for gaming because of the high cpu usage. I bet a bare metal dedicated server will solve all your problems.

Re: Need help blocking DoS attack
Ok I think I have solved it (hopefully). It seems that the attack origins from port 27015 as well (and destination is UDP 27015). I just found out that my game servers running on port 27015 are the...

Well, that extension helped with the CPU load which doesn't spike to 100% any longer but the server still goes down.
Here's a captured tcpdump while the attack was going on:...

Re-compiled and installed it, I'll report back if it works.
I uploaded it if someone needs it as well:...

Re: Metamod Query Cache
Compiled version for L4D2 with no GLIBC_2.15 requirement (compiled against _srv libs and Metamod 1.10).
Edit: Tested and seems to work fine!
Edit 2: Added source code (only makefile changed).

Thanks Mike, I did that and it seems that I get hit thousands of times each second with the command:
TSource Engine Query.
Any idea?
Thanks!

Re: Changing to Linux - Which distribution?
Can you explain why you would use i386 when you have a machine with 8 GB RAM? That really makes no sense to me at all. All my servers are CentOS 6.4 AMD64 and they run SRCDS fine without any issues...

Re: L4DToolZ Metamod plugin (l4d1 & l4d2)
It's both. Some custom maps work fine with l4dtoolz but all maps are designed with 4 players max (or 8 for versus) in mind and no extensions, plugins whatsoever. So for custom campaigns it's better...

I'll post some debug logs once I get the chance to test it further. It...
