some errors after changing fm > engine
well in light of all the profiling results of engine being slightly faster then fm in most cases, I decided to spend some of my free time changing some of my plugins over from using fakemeta to using engine instead
only problem is now ive been getting quite the increase in crashes (was usually once every few days or so.. to several times a day) and i wouldnt consider myself a noob when it comes to writing plugins so its not like i didnt really know what i was doing (ive used fm and engine for years, just more often then not i mainly used fm) so im not really sure if its just caused by me screwing something up or what.. Ive gone back thru the plugins i changed, line by line, and cant find anything that looks wrong at all been getting this (in some cases every 15minutes or so): Quote:
but this is a new one i dont recall ever seeing up till now: Quote:
any ideas? anything that i should be 'careful' about doing thru engine? not sure if maybe i should put the fm versions of these plugins back on and see if it goes back to normal |
Re: some errors after changing fm > engine
I don't think it's because of engine but more how you use it. Is it possible to see one your plugins fm/engine which you are sure it crashes ?

Cache_TryAlloc You have to update your server with HLDSUpdateTool.

sure, attached both versions of a plugin that when i switched back to the fm backup copy it stopped crashing every 15 minutes or so.. Not even a really complex plugin either... (the engine version still uses fakemeta for the get/set pdata natives) and for the most part, the other plugins that i had changed over up till now werent any more complex then this one.. Just real basic, simple changes... |

I've noticed those errors too after I changed some things to engine...

Re: some errors after changing fm > engine
Sorry to bump this, but I've noticed it too. I'm going to look into the engine code sometime and see if I can find any problems with it. In the mean time, I'm going to try FM.
