this is what i have in my server.cfg

sv_cheats 0
sv_consistency 1
sv_maxcmdrate 101
sv_maxrate 30000
sv_visiblemaxplayers -1
sv_maxplayers 8
sv_removehumanlimit 1
sv_unlock_sb_add 1
sv_force_unreserved 1
sv_maxslots 8

im trying to get an 8 man co-op server going and its been days of nothing but getting pissed off. i cant seem to get it to work.. if anyone has an 8man coop server please fill me in on how to get this working please... this is for windows to BTW.

hero.

I have a working 8man coop. Its windows dedicated. I use only two things and its pretty stable. I use L4dtoolz and bebop. I put these 4 lines in server.cfg
sv_maxplayers "8"
sv_visiblemaxplayers "-1"
sv_removehumanlimit "1"
sv_force_unreserved "1"

No additional bots are added this way. So if you have 2 players in game you don't have 6 bots running around. I don't know if its just my tankrush server but there is an afk bug. Use Afk manager of some type so people dont' get stuck in spectate.

Now I guess I will go wrestle my linux server for the same type of operation unless someone is kind enough to tell me a working combo. I don't want extra zombies ect, as Im moving my tankrush server to 8 man coop. Not to confuse things, yes Im moving my windows server to linux if I can get it to run the same.

The Problem is probably because you dont have unreserve lobby plugin installed, "I dont want extra zombies etc" I tried Super Versus with the infected bots plugin, and i got major ping lagging so thats deffinately a good idear ;) If you want 8 bots to spawn then use Left12Dead plugin ;)

PS Linux needs dealing with differently than windows idk which is best server wise but i had todo alot work arounds to fix bugs with sourcemod and metamod when i was running l4d2 servers

BTW the afk ppl that get stuck in spec.. all they need to do it hit space bar and they are able to join the game again.

Re: L4DToolZ Metamod plugin (l4d1 & l4d2)

I'm seeing problems since the last L4D2 update also. We run a 9vs9 18-player Versus server, and it looks like we can't get more than 8 people on.

I run the following of key note:
- Linux Dedicated (Version 2.0.3.4)
- L4DToolZ (1.0.0.10RC3)
- L4D SuperVersus (1.5.4)

It appears also that the 'sv_force_unreserved' is not working, which may be to blame. I have it set, and yet a reservation is showing in "status".

Any one else care to share their setups to observe any common trends? I have been able to run the server untouched for some time now (plugins, configs, cvars untouched), and it would appear at first glance the update has affected something.

Your gamedata file is outdated. Download the one 3-4 pages back posted by Ivailosp.

Sorry Visual, but I am running that (http://forums.alliedmods.net/showpos...&postcount=660). It was me who reported the issue last time leading to the updated pointer. (http://forums.alliedmods.net/showpos...&postcount=655) Sadly it appears to have broken again... :/

(edit: I'd actually forgotten all about this incident, and would have mentioned the pointer from the offset if I'd recalled, whoops)

Forgot that was you. Yes, the linux signatures are not working on linux anymore.

So, is that the reason why my Linux server isn't working anymore to set it Unreserved??

What can we do to fix this issue, and does that mean I probably should stop trying to fix it like a mad man reinstalling everything numerous times with no different outcome?

Yeah. Wait untill ivalio or someone else updates the signatures in the .txt file.
