Send Fake cvar value
1 Attachment(s)
Description:
This is a simple plugin that allows you to send fake variables to clients. I made this script for myself to enable the use of commands like "thirdperson" in Left 4 Dead without having server side sv_cheats turned on. For certain commands like "thirdperson" the client still requires sv_cheats to be set to 1 even if the cheat flag is removed. Usage: sm_fcvar <name/#userid> <cvar> <value> For example if you want to send sv_cheats 1 to a client it would be: sm_fcvar <name/#userid> sv_cheats 1 Changelog 1.1 - rewrote ugly code :P 1.0 - release |
Re: Send Fake cvar variables
But what happens when they try to use an actual cheat command?

Re: Send Fake cvar variables
No you cannot use any cheat commands that require the server to have sv_cheats enabled. You can only use cheats like thirdperson that only require the client to see sv_cheats 1.
So commands like god and impulse 101 will not work. |
Re: Send Fake cvar variables
Thats nice plugin, you can for example set sv_client_predict per client.

Re: Send Fake cvar variables
If you allow cheats on the client they can use any command that doesn't go through or get updated by the server.

Re: Send Fake cvar variables
Does this mean they will be able to wall-hack?

Re: Send Fake cvar variables
I did this to turn on sv_cheats, thirdperson, and host_timescale 2. It's kinda like a speedhack, I'm frightened VAC will try to get me.
Hopefully not though :P |

VAC can't ban you for anything you do in game. It's purpose is to scan processes to see if they are known hack programs. KAC could perhaps ban players on the server because of this plugin, so I don't think KAC would be a wise choice for a server running this. And MrSaturn, yes this plugin would allow players who know the right commands able to see through walls. |
Re: Send Fake cvar variables
Hi. Sorry to bump this thread but would it be possible to send a specific fake cvar to a client the moment it joins?
