[L4D] "award_earned" Game Event Data
I was playing around with this particular game event during the initial creation of my L4D stats, and it seems to be some sort of remnant of the old Award/Demerit system that the devs talked about during L4D's development. Unlike achievement_earned, this event is fired every time that you complete whatever task that might set it off.
I identified about 20 of these (below), but there were a lot that we couldn't get to reproduce consistently or find any correlation to when and why they were fired. There is also 10 or so that fire at the end of the level, which again were so inconsistent it was impossible to try and define what any of them might be. If anyone has the ability or resources to get a definitive list, please do. These ones below are only ones I identified through playtesting. Award ID -- Event/Trigger 15 -- Explosive or Fire Kill, IE gas tanks or propane tanks 18 -- Something to do with Witch (couldn't ever to get it fire consistently, but it always dealt with her) 19 -- Cr0wned Achievement, kill Witch In one headshot 21 -- Hunter Punter Achievement, melee a Hunter mid-jump 22 -- Melee Kill 27 -- Tounge Twister Achievement, kill a Smoker while he is dragging you 66 -- Revive Player 67 -- Protect Player 68 -- Give Pills 69 -- Heal Player 74 -- Pull Friendly from a ledge 75 -- Save friendly from a Hunter's pounce or Smoker's choke 79 -- Player is saved from a Hero Closet 80 -- Tank is killed with no Survivors incaping (or dying) 83 -- Team kill 84 -- Friendly incap 85 -- "Let Friendly die on sight", seems to be based on a distance from the person who died, IE not actively running to try and save them 86 -- Friendly Fire 89 -- Incapacitate Friendly with Explosive (Pipebomb, Molotov, gas or propane tank) 90 -- Incapacitated by Boomer Mob 94 -- Let zombies in Safe Room (fired for Special infected also, and fired for each individual zombie, and fired for the player to last open the door OR last enter) 93 -- Startle Witch 97 -- Let Friendly die in Safe Room 98 -- All Players Died 99 -- Let Friendly Die, Last Life (same nuances as 85) |

Yeah that is for the achievements, not the awards. Not even the ones that intersect - Cr0wned, Tongue Twister, Hunter Punter, etc. - have the same value. Good list though!

I am currenlty playing with friend on my local server to find new awards, but untill now we didnt find some.
But i cant say 22, 66,67,68,75,79,84,86,93 are correct. And i recognized that 18 is something like attacking, killing... with the witch. |

My theory for award_earned, this are things wich are important for serval archievments.

I am -somewhat- including the Award/Demerit system in my L4D stats. I may strip down that functionality at some point after the L4D stats is finished and release an Award/Demerit plugin, but I'm not going to promise anything.

The difference between 87 and 86, is the relation ship between accidental FF, and Purposely FF. It has a fine line between it. Basically, if you where to directly shoot someone it is considered 86 award, however, if another survivor runs back and forth or side by side, and you are aiming straight without much proximity and magnitude of movement, it will be considered 87 on the survivor who ran into the line of fire. Question being asked here is, they do not understand what this means. Here is a quick Ask-yourself-this: Did you take accidental damage (87)? Did you shoot someone (86)? If no, on both, you get (73). * [72] This is a Bonus/Exponential Award, that can only be obtained if you qualify for AwardID 71 and 70. If you have a survivor incapacitated you will not get 72, not will you get it if you have had a death. Basically You need to have AwardID 71 to get 72, thus you must outrun the tank without taking damage into the saferoom. I believe I identified quite alot of these now, however, feel free to double check them. These all deal with the saferoom once you close the door, any of these can appear. |

marcus, it would run quicker if you used else ifs.. and even quicker if you used a switch.
you could also probably use a mutli-dimensional array: iAward[NUM_ACHIEVEMENTS][MAXPLAYERS+1] using colors, but your not really USING it. eg: could just as easily use \x05 instead of {olive} printing different messages to clients is where colors would help: CSkipNextClient(client) with CPrintChatToAll and then CPrintToChat(client) for a unique message to the award winner |
