TF2 - How to make a 'Turbo' Super Fast Team Fortress 2 Server with Mods and Plugins.

Hello guys,

I've been running a Team Fortress 2 server for some time now, ever since the map MARIO_KART was first released I believe. However, I have only just recently started to mod my server with plugins and edit the speed.

I have found that this can be extremely hard if you do not know what you are doing and can often cause the server to crash, unless you do it correctly.

Now, it is quite a long process if you are, like I was, completely now to mods in the first place. I remember I couldn't get any working, I even messed up sourcemod.

Due to the length the post would be if I did write it from beginning to end, I will simply help people via message if they would like to 'pimp' their server with fast weapons, fast players, and get any other mods or plugins working.

Hope I can help,

Lord Max

Making everything fast is really easy, just edit the .ctx files.
Use an instant respawn plugin too.

Yeh, I know. Just posting this incase people don't know. I remember how annoyed I was when I didn't know and just needed someone to help me out.

Someone did help me out on this forum... And now I'm passing the wisdom on to others.

if you make a thread in this section of the forums..write the tutorial or w\e you wanna write, don't say its too long to write or just ask and i will help, thats when this section of this forum becomes useless, and there is an offtopic for that.

Is it possible without editing the .ctx files, and with a plugin? such as sm_speed <name> <speed multiplyer>

Greetings,

Unfortunatly there is no current plugin for running the *.ctx files you will just manually have to download VICE and decompile the files to edit them.

It would be really good if someone could slap together a quick plugin that would allow users to bind a key to a basic admin menu and select a range of different mods that would replace the *.ctx mods. The menu would be good if it could include fast weapons, extra health, extra damage, 100% crits, etc.

If anyone would like some *.ctx files I have pre-modded for fast weapons and extra health for players please contact me. I can custom mod you some *.ctx files if you would like.

Thanks,

Lord Max

Would never work, full server restart needed for .ctx files to take affect.

Wrong..

SM 1.1.x has support for the tfstructs which allows for the modification of real time settings of the various weapon class CTX files. pRED and bl4nk have been working on this the past few weeks.

just to add in from teddy, no one is talking about editing .ctx files..what pRED is doing is editing the cashed ctx file ;] for more info http://users.svn.alliedmods.net/view...cts/?root=pred

So Teddy was wrong. For I was speaking of editing the actual ctx, not the cached.
