Help (mamma mia what's going on!? :) ) - massive timeouts

Hi,

since two days the clients are having massive timeouts when they try to join! At the same time ppl are getting kicked: "Dropped due to slot reservation". Of course it's ridiculous since there arent more than 1 or 3 ppl on the server, when some are kicked (when they join) because of reseved slots.

Well i turned of the slot reservation. But thats not the source. Immense timeouts!

Things i checked, but didnt help:

-no new plugins were installed
-removed all plugins from plugins.ini /restart
-deactivated firewall/virus..
-fast dl works perfectly

What causes timeouts on player join?

hm ..could it be my ISP maybe?

thx for help (+karma) but fast dl works, it seems. I tried myself and had insande dl speeds,. Also as to be seen down further this post, it seems to work.

just now it happened again:

Code:

Dropped RedGN from server
Reason:  Client sent 'drop'
99.232.56.191:1265:reconnect
Dropped RedGN from server
Reason:  Timed out

1. so he drops for downloading
2. shortly after he reconnects (=successful download)
3. while trying to reconnect, he gets timeout.

Either it must be the recent seam update (no clue if that even might come in question!) or my ISP since in the server nothing has changed. Or maybe HLDS has had an recent update, too.

Do what he said. Disable dwnldurl and see if it helps. Seems like he could possibly be timing out on downloading

Timeouts vary in size and/or severity? :P

What is the value of sv_timeout?
