Re: [REQUEST] sv_downloadurl tutorial
well you first need to rent some hosting...
Shared website hosting plans are cheap, but watch out.. some of them do not allow "file server" websites that just serve files to people, so check before you buy. After that, its simply a case of compressing up the files you want to upload, making sure they are all in the right place on the web server (it has to match the dir structure on the server) then changing the cvar on the server to match your url |
Re: [REQUEST] sv_downloadurl tutorial

You need to be able to upload your custom content in the same structure that it's stored in your game server. You're looking at somewhere between roughly £2.50 - £5 per month or $5 - $10 per month so it's not expensive. |

Re: [REQUEST] sv_downloadurl tutorial
www.globat.com is the company i use for my webhosting and fast download, i have heard that blue host is good as well for this.

Re: [REQUEST] sv_downloadurl tutorial
I use bluehost for ~5 servers and I've never once had a complaint from them about bandwidth or anything like that. They have some great support and there servers are never down. I think I've had maybe one incident where the server went down for a few minutes over the few years that I've been using them, and they actually notified me of it. Overall, they're the best website provider I've ever used.

Or if your ISP gives you personal web space that can be a quick and fast download site.
