cannot adjust cvars

Hey guys
whenever I adjust either sv_accelerate or sv_friction it works for 1 second then something on the server set them back to 5 and 4. Ive tried disabling every plugin, switching to a different maps, setting the cvars via a plugin and I dont have either of those cvars in the server.cfg or amxx.cfg. Here are the messages that come in the console. Does anyone know what would be causing this?

] amx_cvar sv_friction 100
"sv_friction" changed to "100"
[AMXX] Cvar "sv_friction" changed to "100"
"sv_friction" changed to "4"

] amx_cvar sv_accelerate 100
"sv_accelerate" changed to "100"
[AMXX] Cvar "sv_accelerate" changed to "100"
"sv_accelerate" changed to "5"

Re: cannot adjust cvars

Because you are setting it to a value the engine doesn't like, so it resets it or puts it at the max/min

Re: cannot adjust cvars

Adding onto what Yami said, you have to deal with the defaults

Re: cannot adjust cvars

hmm is there a way to adjust the min/max of these cvars because it doesnt even let me set it to 4 or 6

] amx_cvar sv_accelerate 6
"sv_accelerate" changed to "6"
[AMXX] Cvar "sv_accelerate" changed to "6"
"sv_accelerate" changed to "5"
] amx_cvar sv_accelerate 4
"sv_accelerate" changed to "4"
[AMXX] Cvar "sv_accelerate" changed to "4"
"sv_accelerate" changed to "5"

or is there a work around at all?

Re: cannot adjust cvars

Nope. It is built into the game engine. So, the only way to change it would be to alter the engine, but that would be against the EULA

Not sure if you still need this, but this plugin will allow you to alter friction and acceleration.

I don't know if it will strain the server due to it forcing your value each time it changes back to the servers value (which is called about every 1 second).

The forward you need to do this is FM_CVarSetFloat.
