Question about odd error message

The error message is:

L 09/23/2004 - 11:22:57: [Engine] Invalid Entity 0 ("cstrike\addons\amxmodx\plugins\uwc3.amxx ", line 40)

The odd part is line 40 occurs wuithin a comment block, its not a valid line of code.

I believe this error comes from a plugin running in DEBUG mode but I am not certain, anyone have similar or know what I can look for?

Thanks,
Mug / K2mia

1) If the plugin is not in debug mode and you are using a JIT version, the lines will be probably wrong.
2) You are most likely using a stock which calls a native so the error is reported to be in the stock. Run the plugin in debug and it will show you who called the stock.

After turning debugging on the error is now reporting the last line of the .sma file as the source of the problem ...

Under RC6, recompile the plugin with the latest amxxsc.exe. Then change the plugin's entry in plugins.ini to this:

uwc3.amxx debug

The error should be much more informative.

To see whether it's in debug mode, do "amxx plugins".

Thanks Bail, will see if this helps.

My guess is this is happening in fake_touch

Mugwump 09-24-2004 19:15

Nope, not fake_touch as I dont use that in the plugin ... :)

Question for you guys. If my source is broken down into say 10 or so source files (1 smal and 9 included files) how do I match up the reported error line number with the source? Is it the equivalent of inserting the contents of each include file where the include call is in the sma source file?

Thanks,
Mug

Yes. But when the plugin is in debug mode it should tell you where the error happened (file name + line number + call stack)
