w00t, TAKE THIS UA! (AMX_LIVE)

w00t!, guys I just found out my caching problem from the old AMX days...I was too lazy to actually look around for the answers to my AMX_LIVE plugin, but I finally found a trick to get by the caching problem!

The UA guys were in here touting about how I couldn't create anything within a week, but truthfully the code only did take a week to write...I just never got back around to fixing it!...

if you want to see it, www.tkwired.com/live/live.html -- tell me if it works...should just be updating numbers.

Impressive. Now all you have to do is extrapolate the 2D BSP data from map files like phpUA does ;]

Have you seen OLO's version at http://www.olo.counter-strike.pl/

heres better example of my stuff bailo...

Damn thats nice.

ThantiK 09-22-2004 22:46

Just flash/amx/php combo =D

Probably only a page of code.

ThantiK 09-22-2004 22:51

Yea, seen OLO's...

This is just a spider framework...

I'm sure if I give you guys all of my current code you could improve upon it....I'm sure I did a very sloppy job.

BAILOPAN 09-22-2004 22:52

No, it's not better. OLO's seems far more complete, notice how the circles' opacities deplete when being fired upon. Also the movement is updated faster, or at least the motion is tweened.

Lastly if I recall correctly phpUA doesn't use a static image - it actually uses some BSP/HL algorithm to recontsruct coordinates and such. I know one of the phpUA developers and I think he mentioned this briefly to me (he didn't want to say too much as phpUA is still closed source).

What advantage does yours have over OLO's and UA's? Flash. That's a huge advantage.

Hopefully this can someday be completely working and opens ource, as UA and OLO have taken a long time ;]

Wow thats nice. But it needs more detail.

IF ANYONE IS INTERESTED IN HELPING/TAKING THIS OVER...

I will be GLAD to part w/ the source code, etc...

I am NOT an advanced coder, and I will admit this right now. I am looking for someone who would be interested and has the resources, to complete this and have it a good open source alternative to PHPUA and OLO's stuff...

rACEmic 09-23-2004 04:33

OLO's stuff is pretty impressive at this point. The circle that doubles as a pie chart for health is a great idea, and the fact that you can tell who is firing, and the direction they are looking, makes it heads above PHPUA's work (for the "Watch" part anyway).

Too bad it's Java, which I don't think has as much of a userbase (at least among the CS crowd) as Flash.
