Re: Sank Sounds (Luke Sankey) (v1.8.4)
Thank you Karlos. Will update when I get a chance. People still connect a decade later expecting those same funny sounds to be there!
Post reinstall: That error was on my part looking back. I had to remove plugin because some of my maps are just too big. One of them that still would open Sankey's sounds looking back the SND.CFG was void. I noticed when I reinstalled and had no sounds but also no errors. If you are up for it perhaps add something to script like pop-up a MOTD or whatever to inform admin the plugin is not set-up right and it is missing SND.CFG. Well it was there but it had no contents in this case. If filesize is 0 or file does not exist in INIT have plugin automatically generate a super generic one. |
Re: Sank Sounds (Luke Sankey) (v1.8.4)
i feel like i already reported it sometime ago, but:
when playing 'very long' without reconnecting to the server, the sounds arent played anymore on the client-side. after reconnecting the client is able to hear the sounds again. using latest 1.9.2. |
Re: Sank Sounds (Luke Sankey) (v1.8.4)
It is long but here my answers:
@AllMassive I cannot reproduce "very long", what ever it means (1 day, 3 months, ...). You could try the tests: 1) Try to play the sound manually: "spk <sound>" (spk "sound/misc/test.wav") If this is not working then SankSounds cannot play anything. Its a HL issue. 2) Try "amx_sound_play <sound>". This is similar to 1) but uses some SankSounds checks. 3) Can admins still play sounds? 4) Do players get a quota exceeded warning? 5) Do you have "SND_MAX" or "SND_MAX_DUR" set to something bigger 0 (zero)? 6) Try to use the command "amx_sound_debug" (If config is big then it might kick you from the server or crash the server). If used from server console then it is save. @DJEarthQuake Will not add code to initial a basic config (a basic one comes is avalable for download). Having an empty config should use the defaults stored in the plugin and there should not be any errors (with v1.9.2). |

Re: Sank Sounds (Luke Sankey) (v1.8.4)
The first 3 questions were build hierachically.
If you answer the first question with no, then no subsequent question is not relevant/cannot be yes. In your case if the command "spk <sound>" is not working, then (as already said) it is an HL issue. Without this command Sank Sounds is not working. |
Re: Sank Sounds (Luke Sankey) (v1.8.4)
ok :(
i really wonder why nobody else has reported that behavior here before, since also some other non-admin players reported the same in our forum. thx |
Re: Sank Sounds (Luke Sankey) (v1.8.4)
I need help because I always get the following error message:
error_xxxxxx.log: [AMXX] Error opening plugin file (plugin "sank_sounds"). rcon amx_plugins output: Code:
Plugins currently loaded:I have been working with sourcemod for a few years now, but amxmodx is new to me. I put the plugin in the plugins.ini, put the sank_sounds.amxx in the plugins folder and put the SND-LIST.CFG in the config folder. I have installed amxmodx 1.8.2 and use it for cs 1.6. The server runs Linux Debian 9.0 (64bit). edit: i have also recompiled the sank_sounds.sma but the error remains |
Re: Sank Sounds (Luke Sankey) (v1.8.4)
I am not quite sure anymore but maybe you should try AmxmodX v1.8.3

Re: Sank Sounds (Luke Sankey) (v1.8.4)
well i didnt noticed that there was a newer version. i thougt the 1.8.2 on the mainpage from amxmodx.org was the newest. i tryed to intall it but it crashes the server when i try to load wc3mod but than i also noticed that i made a stupid mistake in the plugins.ini... i just forgot to put the ".amxx" after the plugin name. so i went back to 1.8.2 (luckily i made a backup) and just put the ".amxx" to the pluginname and now everything works just fine.
but thank you for your help :) |
