Half-Life Terminal Velocity

What's terminal velocity for a player falling in Half-Life?

Is it 800?

I don't think that it has a terminal velocity. However, if it does, it's surely more than 800, because the default HLSDK define for PLAYER_FATAL_FALL_SPEED is 1024.

Hmm, because my jetpack mod makes players fly up at speeds that seem faster than the fatal falling speed that gravity supplies, and my maximum velocity upwards is only 800.

Hmm, interesting stuff.

Would changing a player's velocity in Prethink be a bad idea? It works great on my fast desktop, but I can't even get off the ground when I'm testing it from my super mega unbelievably slow hardly runs ts laptop.

Is Prethink capped at 60 fps?

server_frame should be equal to your/the servers fps, i think prethink is faster though

Hmm... well I don't want to use a set task, but it seems like that's the only way to get everyone's jetpack boost going at the same speed.

Re: Half-Life Terminal Velocity

I guess that falling velocity is limited by sv_maxspeed... So, there's your terminal velocity.
