DOD entity 'expert' wanted

Whenever I create a new dod_control_point entity, it doesn't 'link' with the dod_control_point_master. Thus the flag appears, but you can't capture it and it doesn't appear on the HUD.

I've tried removing an existing control_point and then recreated the same control_point with the exact same key/values and it does the same thing.

Then I even removed all control_points AND the master, and recreated them ALL with the same keys and it still doesn't recognize them as 'captureable'.

Any ideas as to why?

Perhaps it only checks on map load, like player spawns. Try doing all of this in plugin_precache.

Good thought! But if I create an entity in precache, do I risk overwriting another entity with the same number? Or is the plugin_precache triggered before the entity table is transferred?

i just looked at this quickly, but as far as i can tell:

dod_control_point is linked to dod_control_point_master through point_group if it is a flag you run through.
or
dod_control_point is linked to dod_capture_area through target and targetname if it is a flag with a capture area. There is no link to dod_control_point_master from dod_control_point or dod_capture_area.

hope that helps

No.

Thanx Avalanche! Doing it in precache worked great.
