Putting together a team to create DoD Plugins

Ok, first off I have been working on plugins myself, and as a server admin as well as webadmin for my clan it gets a little overwhelming the amount of stuff I want to have. Well for those DoD admins out there I want to get together with eveyone and get a CVS together, create basic to crazy plugins. As we all well know, the majority of the plugins developed over the years have been aimed at CS, and as CS and DoD get further and further away from the HL Engine they become more and more incompatible without a large amount of reworking. So the idea is to sit down figure out what is specifically needed for the DoD Community and get it developed. I hope to discuss this with the AmxModX team and get their approval. There are alot of great plugin and module developers out there, and I love getting something to work, and work well. That is the point of this. As one person we individuals dont always have the time to do it all. So if your interested, please let me know in this thread and give me a shout. Please only people who are knowledgeable in the use of AmxModX scripting as its hard enough working on plugins when trying to teach as you discover new things and try them out.

Cheers!

heya!

i don't know that much about scripting, my abilities are limited
to change the plugins to my needs and some "copy&paste"-coding,
but i'd love to help you with that, as i'm really missing some more cool
DoD plugins out there.

sponsoring a test-server wouldn't be a problem at all.
just let me know.

Did you intend for this to show up in the plugins forum? If so, do you want it stickied? Or do you want it moved elsewhere

I can help. I know a lot about DoD and the SDK, for effects and such.
PM me if you want my help.

It was intentional for the plugins as this is what we would be developing and adding as much to the package for DoD as the Team are willing to let go into future releases of AmxModX. So yeah plz sticky it. I will wait until the begining of next week, like the 18 July, that way ppl have a chance to say yeah I'd like that, as well as a chance to get a few little details worked out. I want this to become a fountain of good working plugins for the DoD community. At the moment I have a few plugins that will go forward and become better developed. But mainly I want to see about the following as a base:

TK for DoD using SQL
ClanMatch
Public War
Clan Practice
Limits
Cvar Limiting: eg - cl_dynamiclights
[Edit]
Having Dead People drop grenades and maybe ammo
Ability to create classes, such as Engineer (Make Mine Field), Medic (Heal a Player)

And in the future an adaptation or work with SidLuke to get his stats to send to a DB. This will kinda be for all but mainly I want to get the comprehensiveness of Psychostats but real time. As well as anything that the group can get together and try to figure out.

There are so many things I'd like to see but first I'd rather just get the basics outa the way. And latter I'm thinking on a Web Content Manager specific to DoD for clans. I want it easy to be an admin by building upon what others have learned, and to make it easy for n00b, like we all were at one time or another, admins to concentrate on their clans not on silly little things!

Cheers!

Hehehe...thanks guys. Hey pendragon, I though you were a guru at this shit! Heheheh...Guess not!

As for Twilight Suzuka and FireStorm, thanks for you quick responce...I'll be in touch with you...just looking into a public CVS like the one that AmxModX uses.

Cheers!

Ok guys I put in an application to get a sourceforge account for a public cvs. Now I won't know for a while if I can get it but you should start brushing up on CVS. Thats if your still in. So once I hear about it I'll start by getting in contact with everyone and getting you to register there and get on the access list to the cvs. Then we can get onto docs for planning. etx etx etx...

Cheers!
