No, you cant add spawnpoints to a .bsp map onces its been compiled. |
wrong i can do it, its just a LONG TEDIOUS PROCESS
|
Then either tell us how, or direct us to where you found a tutorial,
because saying "lalalalala, I can, it's difficult" isn't helping us much... |
i bet you he means to decompile

There's a tool called ripent for HL1 maps that let you export the entitites to a text file. You could edit that and then import that text file of entites back into the map and save it. It obviously doesn't work for HL2 maps because the BSP format is slightly different.
However, I did find a tool that does work for HL2 maps. It's called EntEd and you can find it here. It does require the .NET framework though. |
open the bsp with wordpad and look for info_player entities, you will find some for ct and some for T.Now to the tricky part, there are coordinate values for each entity.you must copy the entity and rewrite the values so the new spawns aren't colliding with anything or causing problems.I suggest you note where the spawns are that are already there, then remove all of them and start by adding 1 spawn at a time then testing the bsp to make sure the new spawn is in a good place.the only problem here is that most of the new spawns won't be in the buyzone.I'm not sure how to edit the buyzone but it can probably be done in the same basic manner, just by increasing the size of the brush.hope this helps!
