Stacked sounds/nade kills/kill streak plugins
With most kill streak sound plugins, when you kill 3-4 people with a single nade, the sounds stack and the streak sound is much louder than when a single player is killed. This could possibly be a source of the error “reliable channel overflow”. Is there a “break” code that be used so that when this happens, the sounds will not stack?

I don't emit sound that often, but when i do i use CHAN_AUTO, following the hud channels logic, maybe if you send everything to the same channel it will override the last sound. Maybe im right, maybe im just talking nonsense.
The other way i can think of is sending a client_cmd "spk" to every player, because i know that one can't play multiple sounds at once, but I don't know how efficient this method is. |
