server.cfg
When I change something in server.cfg nothing happens on my server.
Do I have to run it trough console to have it load the cfg? I have tried restarting the whole thing and making it read only etc. When I click the HLDS icon, should it load the config? I cant even change the starting money with the hlds GUI. .. thx |
Re: server.cfg
What are you trying to change?

just to test if its working.. For some reason I could change netcode settings a week ago but now nothing changes when I edit the file. |
Re: server.cfg
Attach your server.cfg. Make sure you delete your rcon password first.
And your fastdl url if you have one |

When I start the server using HLDS GUI, the GUI settings dont match my config. So I have to use console to start the server? |
Re: server.cfg
Ok... So if I change the hostname or password in server.cfg, it works and changes the name and password.
But other things like mp_startmoney and many other commands does not change.. I even made it echo something to confirm that its loading! wtf is this.. I'm going crazy! -.- Troubleshooting I've done so far: I have made a cfg folder in cstrike, and put my server.cfg file there instead of in cstrike. Still only loads hostname and password... Tried putting it in, config, /valve/server.cfg .. not working.. Tried making server.cfg read only, no change.. tried to exec file using rcon exec server2.cfg only says it changes mp_startmoney, but nothing really happens... tried adding +servercfgfile server.cfg to lanch options.. nothing Can someone tell me what's going on here!? |
Re: server.cfg
Ok, I did a fresh install of HLDS+CSTRIKE and it seems that this issue has something to do with amxmod..
Anyone know which plugin might interfere with my server.cfg? Thanks |
Re: server.cfg
Solved! One of my plugins cause the problem...
Still cant understand why, but it works! |
Re: server.cfg
Post the plugin that caused the issue and someone may tell you what the problem actually was.

Re: server.cfg
cstrike/server.cfg -> gets loaded when you start the server
amxmodx/configs/amxx.cfg -> gets loaded every time map changes although improbable it's possible that some cvars you are trying to set in server.cfg get overwritten when amxx.cfg is read, so have a look also if you need to add new cvars and don't want to shutdown, just add to amxx.cfg and wait for mapchange |
