Plugin Ghosting, please help!!!

I was testing a plugin (editing .sp file, compiling and uploading to gameserver) and then this happened:

The server has been somehow stuck and only recognizes 1 previous version of the plugin only , which constantly spams info in chat (this chat spam was included in a version that I was testing some chat colors)!

Even with the plugin deleted and server restarted, the plugin is still active on server! Even after I updated sourcemod and deleted all plugins to test! I also updated my compiler too but still no luck!

My only solution to stop this was to delete socket extension https://forums.alliedmods.net/showth...=67640&page=53 , as it is its dependecy, but come on , I want to use my current version but the server only recognises this spam version.

This is the first time facing something like this , I don't want to believe that my server was hacked by any means, this behaviour is impossible!

What I have to do? I hope I was clear with my explanation.

Plugin is https://forums.alliedmods.net/showth...113807&page=50

Server Game: TF2

Did you reload the plugin after replacing the smx file?

Well, no need , because as I said , even after SERVER RESTART, the problem insisted. As a result, feeling powerless and desperate for a quick solution without thinking more, I just deleted my server , re-installed it and no problem so far! But, hey , this bug kinda discouraged my ambition to edit plugins...

Familarize yourself with "sm plugins info" command in server console, that should help (I believe it's "info")

I've faced this problem when posting updates of my plugin. There seems to be a bit of unlikely behavior of SM when a plugin is overwritten many times.

In my case, I tend to have mistakes on my plugins and try to correct them only to find out later that I missed a few and I try correcting them again over and over until all mistakes have been corrected. You'll get the idea.

The only solution I found is renaming the .sp file, compiling it and putting the compiled .smx in the plugins folder, and deleting any traces of the old one. Why don't you try it? I hope this helps.

Edit: Or.... this could be the case where two versions of the plugin existing with different names.
