CSS require sv_cheats to be on?
The mod I'm making is a huge one, and I just found out that without the 'sv_cheats' the mod really won't even work properly!
Any ideas how I have to handle this? |
Re: CSS require sv_cheats to be on?
if you need to change cvars you can use sm_cvar "convar" "value" without the need to have sv_cheats turned on

I saw recommend to turn off sv_cheats for some security reasons...

Re: CSS require sv_cheats to be on?
Could you explain what part requires sv_cheats ?
You can try to sv_cheats 0 after having removed the FCVAR_CHEAT flag from a convar whose value you want to change (and don't forget to add back again that flag after having changed the convar value), if the problem comes from a convar. It doesn't work with all of them though (i.e. timescale I think ?). Alternatively I've seen some plugin temporarily set sv_cheats 1; though that isn't really pretty and not recommended. Some say it isn't safe though I have yet to see an exploit using that; I doubt it is unsafe when done in the same code flow (i.e. before returning from your function you ensure that sv_cheats is back at 0). If someone could enlight me on that <.<. |
