I want to make a hudmessage stay forever on the screen

i got a task called every second to update the hudmessage with info from mysql

i want i to see like it is the same message, but with updated info... no blinking when it does this... any ideas??

Try and find the HUDMESSAGE for message_begin and see what you can do with it.

I know the menu system is really a message_begin.

Or try setting set_hudmessage timer to -1

If above fails set_hudmessage to 1sec and set the task for it too 0.9secs, shouldn't blink then.

Well AssKicR said specifically about HudText not any other form of text (probably because its prettier)

I don't know how to code but I've got an idea about this. In stats plugin the message "Somebody killed with knife from a distance...." appears about 12 seconds or so right? And these 12 seconds are defined somewhere right? Then you could make a plugin that shows a message for 30*60=1800 seconds, i.e. mp_timelimit*60.

Quering sql every other second is probably a bad idea in a realtime environment.
