Best anti-cheats and ban lists right now?

Since I doubt that the paid version of LMAOBOX (TF2 cheat) is detected by SMAC (as I already had to catch the free version by using an additional plugin based on the cheat advertising itself), I'm looking for alternatives to SMAC. I have found this list, but it seems horribly outdated because one of the anti-cheats they recommended (NoCheatZ 3 Beta) apparently has closed its doors years ago. Mind I need these for TF2 though, not CS. One more AC I saw mentioned is zBlock.

Can I run sv_pure 2 on a public TF2 server? Most importantly items found (while playing) or purchased in the TF2 store should continue to work, also custom sprays.

You can set sv_pure 2 in your server config.
Currently the most publicly updated anti-cheat is SMAC. If there was anything better to use it would have it's own subforum by now.

sv_pure has to be set to at least 1 on the command-line if you want it to work. Or so says Valve's Fletcher Dunn when the VPK system was added to the game, as it has to load before the VPKs are initially loaded.

Thank you both. I've settled with
  • SMAC 0.8.6.0 (all modules)
  • SMAC TF2 Taunt Fixes 0.6
  • LMAOBAN 1.2
  • +sv_pure 2 in command line
