Just a problem with my server
Ok, so I recently got into hosting a private ff2 server (private for the meantime).
First of all, I'm still a noob for these kinds of things, this is my first server and I don't have much experience with it, so this problem might be easy to solve. When starting up my server, everything goes alright, without any problems. All the files for every hale are being downloaded as they should. But after the arena match, everything goes wrong. This is a list of problems I have: -All hales appear as errors, no exceptions -No hales use any sound, except for hales that use original character's voice lines -Red players don't have melee crits -Weapons that have been changed for ff2 mode don't work as they should -I have wrote several cfgs for hales out of scrap. These hales don't have the health buff, don't get any abilities or rage meter. Although they do appear as their class (not as their model) and have the weapons I want. People don't get lastman crits or a lastman timer appears when these hales are being played. These are the major problems. Some things that I've tried: -Changing ff2 version -Solve every problem the error log mentions -Find someone else who has a similair problem, I did find someone, they suggested to download v 1.9.1-1.9.2, I tried this, didn't help -Compare the cfgs with other people's cfgs (they are allright) Now, if this is an easy to solve problem, like wrong file placement (seems to be normal when comparing to someone else's), forgot a plugin or script (this also seems to be normal). Remember that I have very little experience with this. And the version that I'm using is 1.9.0. |
Re: Just a problem with my server
There are a few possible causes for the "appear as errors" and "No hales use any sound" bugs
As for the other errors, you may want to make sure you have one of the 1.6.0 builds of TF2Items to make sure that's not part of the issue. The 1.6.0 release wasn't changed on the main TF2Items thread until February 2014 despite it being mandatory since July 2013 in order to properly remove attributes. |
Re: Just a problem with my server
If you are running linux make sure that file/group/user permissions are ok.
Basically if you are starting server with a user called "TF2" and the server files were created by "ROOT." All files should be on the same User/Group and be accessible. |
