Changing the HLDS folder
Hi,
Is it possible to create a custom folder where the HLDS tool will be installed and be started from? Currently the server is located in my Cstrike folder.. it always used to have a separate folder though, back in the day. Thanks in advance |
Re: Changing the HLDS folder
Seeing as you have to define the folder when you install HLDS, yes it is possible

Re: Changing the HLDS folder
I Uninstalled HLDS and tried to install it again, no succes though it gave me this message:
""An error occured while installing Half-Life Dedicated Server (connection time out)" I have used SteamCMD to get it back, but it downloaded HLDS in the half-life folder again. Which than will use the cstrike folder. I hope there is a solution for this. Maybe it could be because i have the beta of hlds and cs1.6 installed.. i'm not sure. Thanks in advance. |
Re: Changing the HLDS folder
Which folder-name are you actually trying to change? HLDS or cstrike?

Re: Changing the HLDS folder
The Half-life folder is where the HLDS is currently installed in.
I want it to be in a custom folder named HLDS. From: Steam\steamapps\common\Half-Life To: Steam\steamapps\common\HLDS |
Re: Changing the HLDS folder
Afaik you can only change the directory where the hlds-folder will be installed, not the hlds directory itself, so you could install it to /iwantanuglyfoldername/Half-Life, but not Steam\steamapps\common\myuglyfolder

Re: Changing the HLDS folder
If you are using the HLDS from within Steam, no you cannot change the folder. You can only change the folder if you install it using SteamCMD
