Unstable FPS
Hello,
Is this normal? FPS is unstable, from 70 to 500 > 1000. Code:
CPU In Out Uptime Users FPS PlayersAlso is the "In Out" normal? Thanks |
Re: Unstable FPS
What additional parameters are you using in your commandline and what are your rates set to in server.cfg

@Gremnix
Can you provide us some details about your setup, such as OS, AMXX vers, meta list, plugins list ? That would help us help you better. If your getting 1000fps at any time, then no you shouldn't be seeing it drop as low as 70fps as long as your system and setup is stable and correctly configured. That's also a very high CPU use especially with only 8 players. |

Re: Unstable FPS
The only way you can achieve a stable 1000fps while running on a Linux OS is to set "sys_ticrate 10000".
not 1000 but 10000. Try that and please post back if it helped. I'm sure it will. Also remember that Linux doesn't run HLDS as well as Windows server 2008r2 enterprise while running at a boosted 1000 fps. |
Re: Unstable FPS
Hi mate, with sys_ticrate 10000 same stuff happens. From 100 > 900, unstable FPS.

Re: Unstable FPS
What version of Linux are you using ?
3gb of ram isn't much but it should be okay as long as your not running too many other processes, I prefer at least 3.0ghz cores to run my servers on, but with 16 cores that should also be okay. Everything else seems normal. You say these FPS drops happen even without metmod and amxx ? |

I know that Valve recommends running HLDS/steamCMD on high priority in windows. Have you tried using the "nice" command to set the thread priority for SteamCMD ? Lowest is "nice 19" highest is "nice -20" I know this is not what you would like to hear, but I highly recommend running game servers on Windows 2008r2 enterprise. |
Re: Unstable FPS
