is there a plugin to stop ddos attacks?

we were doing a game giveaway on our surf sever, we had about 23 people when 2 guys started spamming hldj, one of my admins banned him and about 10 minutes the server started lagging really bad, then after a map changed the server crashed

is there a way to stop ddos attacks? and how do I see the ip of the ddoser?

thanks

If they're saturating your uplink then no. These ddos attacks occur via udp meaning the ip address can be spoofed.

There are several things you can do.

Try running this: http://www.sourceop.com/modules.php?...download&cid=9

If you have IP Tables (linux), block the incoming attack's IP address. If you're using windows hosting, wireshark is good. Google for linux, there are many ways.
