[Request] Server Restart Mod
Ok well, I run both a L4D2 and TF2 server on my linux vps, I Want to have it where lets say I set a specific time for the servers to be shut down then restarted on a daily basis, but I'd like to mod to also check to see if theres ppl on the server in the first place, if so, wait til they disconnect.
so heres an example: I set the time to 4AM, the mod checks to see if people are on the server when 4AM rolls arouind, if ppl are on the server, it waits till they all d/c to restart the server, otherwise if no ppl are on, it restarts it at 4am I don't know if this is possible but a daily restart ensures the game server stay fresh and the ram never builds up. ;0 |

Re: [Request] Server Restart Mod
Tnaks for the reply, but as mentioned above the l4d2 server WON'T restart automatically, so will this mod be able to restart it? I'm not skilled in linux so i'm not sure how to make the l4d2 server start up by itself like the tf2 server does after a restart

Why not just set up your L4D server to restart on exit like your TF2 server does? I'm using Windows but all my servers restart after a crash or quit, regardless of game type. Read the thread I linked before, restarting under Linux is discussed there. |
Re: [Request] Server Restart Mod
no clue how the tf2 server is setup, i didn't do it, it came that way out of the box, so to speak :) i've been trying to find how the hell it got to be that was so maybe i could duplicate it on the l4d2 server, but no luck

Re: [Request] Server Restart Mod
well i don't think srcds run is doing it for l4d2 i'll rcon a quit and see if it starts up in 10 mins and edit the post as needed
EDIT oK... RCON quit worked, the server came right back on... but..how hell does rcon _restart not perform the same fuction.. it makes no sense.. I guess I can use that restart mod after all :P thanks guys :) oh yea is there a more up to date version of the mod lurking around the forums maybe? |
