Requested by nightmare. More suggestions by other people.

This is completely different from version 0.10

This plugin makes hostages nervous. To be more precise, if a Terrorist points his gun at a hostage then the hostage makes nervous noises. If the Terrorist stares at the hostage long enough the hostage will say something like "please don't hurt me."

If a hostage notices a Counter-Terrorist aiming his gun at him, at first he'll be startled before he realizes that the Counter-Terrorist is on his side.

Hostages will no longer make noises if the person aiming at them is too far away or if the hostage is following someone.

cvar_name (default) - description
hostage_sounds (1) - turns the plugin on and off
hostage_ct_startle (1) - hostages are startled by CTs at first
hostage_t_nervous (1) - hostages are nervous when Ts aim at them
hostage_t_donthurtme (1) - hostages beg not to be hurt if a T looks at him long enough
hostage_max_dist (512) - maximum distance a hostage can notice someone
hostage_donthurtme_time (5.0) - the time, in seconds, a T has to stare at a hostage for the hostage to beg

Sorry, the sounds are no longer available, so I have requested that this plugin be unapproved.

This plugin requires Fakemeta and Cstrike.

The plugin itself sounds kind of fun. Adds a little extra entertainment into the mix. What really makes me smile though, is how you coded the precache functionality. If you want to call it that, sure. It just makes them sound nervous when you point your gun at them, it's not some crazy AI like CS:CZ has.

Avalanche, I've a few ideas...
  1. an option that determines how long a T needs to look at a hostage before the hostage will say anything (at least before the hostage would say, "please don't hurt me")
  2. an option for how often a hostage should speak (essentially, the hostage would have a 1 in x random chance of saying something when looked at)
  3. an option for if the hostages should gasp/be startled when a CT looks at them (presumption being that the hostage doesn't immediately recognize that it's a 'good' guy). this could be implemented in the same was as #2; having random 1 in x chance of speaking (if x=0, the hostage wouldn't ever speak)

yea because if a t is aiming with like an awp at a ct carrying Hosties, it will start to talk and the ct will know a t knows where he is.

The hostages don't talk when a T is aiming at a CT.

I think what you mean is if someone is trying to aim at a CT and their aim crosses over a hostage before getting to the CT.

Well that would make this more like hostage AI then having them spout sentences. I guess I could do something advanced, though. I'll think about it.

I haven't tracked down the problem exactly but it seems as if a T is in viewing distance of hosties and dies, ending the round, the hostages get all gabby even if the T isn't aiming at them.

Try setting hostage_t_donthurtme to 0 in your amxx.cfg and see if it still crashes when you join a team.

k i set it at zero and it seems to werk ok just cant hear them say "dunt hurt meh" :cry:

Nope, but that does tell me that the error comes from the fw_traceline function. Can you turn on debug for the plugin and see if you can get anything more specific? Thanks.

i tried debug and i dont get nuttin in log

but i also noticed that when i join ct server runs good only when i join t it crashes (if that helps)

Wow, none of that is relevant to my plugin. Stop spamming my thread.

The reason nothing happens as CT is that the plugin ignores fw_traceline for CTs because hostages are only terrified of Ts. I'll keep trying to figure out the problem, thanks for the info.

I like the idea of nervous hostages. Is there anyway to have them scream if they are shot. In game, if they are shot they just go down and the other hostages don't do anything. Somehow it would add a sense of urgency and consequence to hostage maps.

pls make ability to change the default hostage sounds :) there is a metamod plugin that is similiar to this, but without new sounds, the hostages changes animation when terrified, just like in half-life, so could you make this plugin do the same ?

can the other hostie plug ( prometheus or something ) you made interfere with this one?

i am running both of your plug in on my assault server and "don't beg me sounds" don't work at all, while the startle sounds work very badly.

Condition Zero IS the next version of CS 1.6 xD
(IMHO)

That's why CZ has that behaviour and 1.6 doesn't! Ta-da! =]

BTW, nice plugin Avalanche, but my servers are both CZ only >.>
Otherwise I'd use this and Prometheus.
