FastDL issue

On a new map download, new items are being downloaded 2 times. I guess this is the problem of FastDL, did anyone faced this. 1st time it downloads from http server then its again downloading from game server, if I set cl_allowdownload 0 after 1st download no more downloads.

Anyone any comments ?

If it is downloading it twice, then it is not downloading it from HTTP correctly

Re: FastDL issue

Can it be some map .res file issue ?. May be the http server and game server has different set of .res file. Can it be possible ?. Like: de_tucan.res has 3 lines on http server and de_tuscan.res has 6 lines on game server.

Just a guess.

RES files are only for the server. But no, typically it will be a 4xx/5xx error that is causing the client not to download from http. You will need to research why

Try after it completes the first download to press "ESC", then reconnect to the server and see if it downloads again. If it downloads again then the download is probably corrupt from the HTTP server.

Even though it happened to me before, I think as a client I just fixed it by pressing ESC after the first download, when I entered it didnt make me to download it again.

^^ Yes correct, if 2nd download canceled then no more download. But not every client smart enough to do this. What is the reason behind this. I couldn't able to find it out yet.

Correct but it's nothing to do with having different .res set. You shouldn't upload .res files at all on your fastdl server.

Re: FastDL issue

So the .res file should reside in game folder only.
