[Demo] Source TV 2D

There are JabaTV in hlds(about 7 years haven't update), and it already death.

The idea is make a JabaTV in srcds.

Some information:
Server Side:
Game server:
socket + sourcemod
Back end server:
java??

Client Side:
applet, flash, html5??

nowaday flash or html5 are powerful, can do alot of things.
May be you can watch cs:s or tf2 live match on you phone.

it possible?

Re: [Idea] Source TV 2D

It is definitely possible, but the main problem I can forsee is the map overview screenshots. Between CSS and TF2, there are probably about 100,000 maps made. I suppose if you only supported the official maps (even then there are a ton) it would be more feasible, but the overviews would be the most painful part. Coding it wouldn't really be overly difficult as you would just need to keep player positions updated between the game server and the web server.

I guess it could transmit the default radar overlay from the map but if there is not one it just is like fail.

I like that. How often are the player positions updated?

html5 + javascript for the interface and php for the backend i assume, i guess you also use an sql database with coords just for the ease?

In addition, how about a record/playback feature like PsychoLive?

I am about to jizz my pants this is so freaking amazing. You should work with Asherkin to finish up the voice transmitter. Then you would be able to basically watch exactly what is going on in your servers.

Re: [Demo] Source TV 2D

Have enough bandwidh (100/100 Fiber) to host a server for you.
Send me a PM if you're interested

raydan 12-13-2012 01:51

Re: [Demo] Source TV 2D

stopped this project 6 months ago until someone ask me few days ago. Now i use another demo game server

so live demo is ON now
http://www.zombiex2.net/sourcetv2d/
press "C" to open scoreboard
bomb explode have animation

i just checked on FF 17.0.1 & IE 9, everything work

i was thinking using the original SourceTV relay to make it happen.
The idea is game server enable sourcetv, make a program to pretend a sourcetv relay.
Then the relay can get all everything, include player position, game event & so on.
I did research & experiment, the hardest part is analyze which packet is useful.

Wow that's really amazing! Would you mind adding Team Fortress 2 compatibility for it?

Re: [Demo] Source TV 2D

Sorry for asking here, but are there installation instruction available how to get this to work?

I run a css server now, but can't manage to get the websocket to work I guess, but I get no response in the official thread.

Crytiqal 01-29-2013 06:33

Re: [Demo] Source TV 2D

I have the websocket working, but it is not the same as your plugin raydan. It seems your plugin runs directly on the gameserver port?

Crytiqal 05-12-2014 16:53

Re: [Demo] Source TV 2D

I was wondering if you made anymore progress on this plugin?
