What does in/out bytes mean? like (14<<255)
 
Hello.
I couldn't understand that what does (14<<255) , (x<<y) bytes mean?
We are using them in ScreenFace , screenshake etc..

I want'to make player black Screen Fade that will start 0 to 255 on screen.(will get darkest) for 4 seconds.

And i want to make it 255 to 0, for 4 seconds. How can i do it ? Please help me.
