I like the idea of this conquest.. but is there anyway you can make it into a regular capture the flag with 2 flag. One for each team at a set location and gotta capture and bring the flag back to own flag to score.

If some of the default flags do not work, follow this method:
Open console:type sm_flagadmin
Close console..A menu should be visible
Press "List all flags"
Find the flag that isnt working.. (Best way is to teleport to each one)
Press 9
Press delete...press yes to delete
Now you can add a new flag again or re-configure a flag
(using the same method as above..."sm_flagadmin")
Sometimes re-configuring a flag requires renaming it!

As far as making this a grab and return, that would have to be a separate plugin from peace-maker

Mod working well on linux ubuntu 10.10. No crashes at all. But I have one problem - gamers do not have kevlar (vest) and helmet equipped by default on respawn. And I can't add this to Custom buy menu. But for me better if they equipped by default. Editing smconquest_classes.cfg just cause a crash. Any advices? What exactly do I need to add?

If you are using bots use this.. (works great for me)
It provides health and armor settings for human and bots

After few test runs - server on linux (Ubuntu) running well, on win7 64 bit crashes immediately after choosing team to play.

Look through your plugins and make certain you do not have any that conflict.
(Respawn, spawn protection)
and....
I personally did NOT try

But changed to kevlar. Working like a charm.
Adding Kevlar to classes causing server crash.

Another thing - is it any chance to disable text table showing flag status? HUD icons looks much better.

These are the 2 that typically work... (if you have not tried them)
"item_kevlar" "1"
"item_assaultsuit" "1"

Just a thought, you may want to try and add it to the
smconquest_buymenu.cfg., instead of the smconquest_classes.cfg

In regard to the text status,
The text indicate where the flag is located for the players,
So it is best if you utilize a Good description of the flag location so the player know where it is.
But to answer your question, I do not think it can be removed .
most likely for just that reason I explained above.
