Please understand that I only ask this out of not knowing (and curiosity)

When you make a design for a block, is it as simple as just creating an image (please dont laugh) like below? Is there perspective needed or is that applied by jed'?

is there a size specification? or is that jeds process also. is the border /edging needed etc ...

I really am just qurious as I dont know about blocks.

Thanks

@sinblaser
that is exactly what i need, very pro looking image and like u did, it needs a little black line in the corners for the blocks to look good, well the sizes is:

large top: 512x512
large side: 512x32 all sides exept pole needs to be black, just totally black.

normal top: 512x512
normal side: 512x64

pole top: 64x64 at poles, the top needs to be black, and the side needs to be the actual texture :)
pole side: 32x256

tiny(small) top: 128x128
tiny side: 128x64

+ the colours have to be indexded colours

Though I believe I'm pretty good at photoshop, I'm not willing to take on the project. But on a side note, for those who are willing, when creating the image, when you are done and want to save the file, go to file -> save for web and devices, and then save it. Open the file in paint, and save it as 256 color BMP. That's the best quality you'll get out of a block.

Thanks for that info mate its an important piece of info. I tried that and the result wasnt very desirable, obviously there is care needed in the original draft. basically it would rule out allot of effects for instance. Shadezz I really don't think I have the time nor do I like the idea of being restricted but at least some of the info I asked for could help whoever has time.

PNG

BMP 256

gradients being the most obvious loss, which could be overcome with 256 color choices in filters but leaves very little effect.

@sinblaster, just make the edge black and the block will look good in the server :) also, u have to save the images as .bmp just remembered that :) but if ur willing to do it, add my steam Shadiezz :)

If he took your png image and implemented it into the model, it would look worse than the 256 color bmp.
