Description:

L4D2 Weapon Attack Speed Modifier
This Plugin Modifies the Survivors Weapon Attack Speed.

Command:
REQUIRES Admin Ban -
l4d2_weaponspeed <#userid|name> <0|1> - Changes clients default weapon speed

Cvar:
l4d2_weaponspeed_everyone, "0", <0|1> - Apply the Weapon Attack Speed Modifier on Everyone?
l4d2_weaponspeed_amount, "1.6", <1.0-2.0> - Weapon Attack Speed Modified Value

Notes:
This speed modifier only works on most of the weapons the survivors can use. I have omitted the grenade launcher, the pistols, the scar and the chainsaw.

What is a weapon speed o_O? Reload time? Bullets cycle time?

I've tested it:

it's the bullets discharge or cycle time (rate of fire). you can discharge eg. a SPAS 12 full clip in like 0.5 seconds, an M60 in about 6 seconds at double rate (2.0) - forget about aiming though, the recoil is uncontrollable on the stronger weapons.

hm, thank you for your explanation! So this plugin in combination with tPonchos Perkmod2 - sleight_of_hand (quick reload) = FTW :)
I removed everything but snipers/shotguns as the fire rate gets increased for all weapons what is too much. Emptying an AK47 within 1 second isnīt even arcade gaming anymore, thatīs too unrealistic :)

1. For a future version of this plugin: Did you consider implementing configurable cvars (0|1 switch) for all weapons and their corresponding fire rate? So a server hoster can choose which weapons to modify and choose different values for every weapon.
2. Please consider renaming this plugin to something like "Weapon fire rate..."

Well, I had originally started this to figure out how to increase the swing speeds on melee weapons. Having it work for guns was a bonus. I may include more cvars later.

I like it, but I would love it if you could add the grenade launcher in, with an infinite ammo plugin a fast shooting grenade launcher would be sweet :D

Hmm, could this be updated so you can tweak the fire rate on 'specific' weapons ? Since I was wanting to bump the rate of fire up on the L4D2's Scout and AWP to make them compete with the Hunting and Military Sniper Rifles.

Say - im wondering how to code this for melee weapon only.
On a rented linux server, the guns' audio cuts out and its hard to tell if its even shooting.

Neat plugin tho, thanks but would love to make it more selective, either by gun classes or 2ndary attack only.

Sweet potato, you do a massive amount of String comparing in OnPlayerRunCmd, do you realize how inefficient that is?! Hook weapon swapping instead.
