how can i get aetter ping on my dedicated server which runs

hi all, sorry fot my bad english(i'm french)

I'm running a 1.5 CS dedicated server (win32) at home and my dsl connection is 2048/256. but people who come to play have a ping around 100-120ms. I find that high!! is there a way(soft or a particular config) to make it better for players?

thx

Yeah. Get a better connection. the 2048 dowload is good but the 256 is nothning for runing a server on. Get a better connection. You need at LEAST 400 kbps

is there no softwares that make your server faster?

Well ... there are things called "Pingbooster" but they won't help if your connection is too slow. Even if the ping becomes lower, the connection might be very laggy (lag =! bad ping [only]).

i suggest reading articles about ntwrok on http://server.counter-strike.net and diging in http://steampowered.com forums

You could change your MTU size that would make your connection more efficient.
But i think that only works with web pages, never really had to worry about it.
