TF2 In-Game Player Skin selection Mod
Hi all
Does anybody know whether there is a mod or it is possible to make a mod for TF2 which will allow an in-game player to select from a selection of custom player class skins in game from an option menu? Say for instance a scout to be able to select a Warriors Baseball Furies skin from an ingame selection menu? I have a mod for hats (equipment manager) enabled on my test server that allows custom hats to be selected for each class, but a player skin selection too would be awesome. Also if the mod could do the same as the hat (equipment manager) mod where you can allow only admins with a set flag to use it, this would be even better. Any ideas? :) |

It's impossible to change character skins as they are handled client-side.

Thanks for the reply noodleboy,
I have never used character skins before but I realised my error when I loaded some to my PC and everyone in those classes appeared in those skins |
Re: TF2 In-Game Player Skin selection Mod
I noticed another script on a site which was called 'skin chooser' on the eventscripts website and that is where my initaial idea came from you see :)

Yeah, shame it can't be implemented in TF2 as well, is there any reason why this is not available or can't be developed the same way, do the 2 games differ in the way the player class skins work even though both are local files?

Hi Afronanny. Thanks for the information. Always good to offload the work to a client as most PCs are powerful nowadays for gamers.
I was just wondering though how the skin facility can be achieved as per the 'skin chooser' scripting addon for counterstrike source, but not for TF2 |
