DDoS protection solutions?

1 Attachment(s)
Hi. I need precise instructions on how to protect my server from DDoS (can pay for effective assistance). I have read many lessons but none of them helped. :/

OS: Linux (Debian 7.0)

Tried to configure iptables (attached).

Thank you.

Re: DDoS protection solutions?

Get a proper hardware firewall or if it's just a rented server go for a host with a good DDoS protection.
Oh and your OS is pretty outdated.

My hosting provider told me that DDoS solutions are not their competence. OVHcl**d has "game firewall", but that VPS plan is a quite expensive (from 80$ / month). Can you recommend something?

You don't necessarily need their game firewall but OVH is a pretty good and compared to others more affordable solution.

OVH has pretty good ddos protection even without game firewall.
Also why do you look their VPS plan? They have full dedicated server from 52$/month.

Offcourse if you buy dedicated gaming server they cost more but you can run server in a simple dedicated server.

Also there is lot of solution for ddos protection for you server but its cost more than OVH dedicated server which already including ddos protection by default.

How can you know that?
Is your dedicated server on a datacenter or is it running with a residential connection?

1. If it is a datacenter: Ask your provider to give you support.

2. If it's a residential connection: There is nothing you can do to mitigate the attacks, simply nothing. The infrastructure needed to get rid of DDoS attacks and still have a reasonable ping to play can only be done with a professional infrastructure you won't be able to build. Plus, is most probably against your provider contract terms to run servers on that connection.
