This is just a beta version, and I want to make sure everyone has the latest update, at least until the full version comes out.

Re: [v0.4] seDirector - manage your Source servers - srcds.exe auto-update in Windows

Set seDirector with my L4D2 server on steam, and console said, the server which i own is disconnected from Steam3 (something like that), and i checked the status if my server is public, which normally when i launch SRCDS.exe the status of my server is public and shows the ip of my public server. Any reason why?

This generally happens due to using an incorrect +ip on the command line, make sure it's your internal interface IP not your external IP if you're behind a NAT.

You didn't receive an e-mail? PM me your e-mail address and I'll make sure it's accepting your e-mail address. Maybe it doesn't like the formatting.

Unfortunately, no, Windows only. However, you may be able to use WineHQ on Linux to run this. I have not tested it, though.

This looks like a C# WPF application, if my presumption is correct you could use mono.
By the way, hldsupdatetool was deprecated lately for some games, more (if not all) will follow sooner or later.

Yours sincerely

Yes, I imagine Mono will work since it's .NET.

Yes, HLDSUpdateTool is the old method, but many games still use it. SteamCMD is more challenging programatically because you deal with authentication. Fortunately seDirector will support it soon enough.

Thanks!

Re: [v0.4] seDirector - manage your Source servers - srcds.exe auto-update in Windows

Can't you just use the +login anonymous command? Then no authorization like your own steam login is needed.

Re: [v0.4] seDirector - manage your Source servers - srcds.exe auto-update in Windows

Looks like they added this ability a few months ago. I should be able to get it working with that a lot faster. Thanks for the help!

Releasing another update by Wednesday!

Hi, thanks! Right now it only supports servers running on Windows running through this program. Down the road I plan on adding support for other servers like Linux.

Thanks again!

Re: [v0.4] seDirector - manage your Source servers - srcds.exe auto-update in Windows

What types of windows does it support XP? server 2008?

br5dy 05-06-2013 02:59

Re: [v0.4] seDirector - manage your Source servers - srcds.exe auto-update in Windows

Workstation support: Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8
Server support: Server 2008, Server 2008 R2, Server 2012

You must have one of the above operating systems and .NET Framework 4.

Thanks!

Re: [v0.5] seDirector - manage your Source servers - srcds.exe auto-update in Windows

I'm assuming the program is bugged since it won't save configurations for the servers. For some reason, we have to re-input everything every time it starts like it's a new installation.

Hmm, odd. I tested it on my test machine and it retains the configuration. Can both of you e-mail me and I'll have you try a few things to get this taken care of? Go here and we'll discuss over e-mail. Thanks!

Re: [v0.5] seDirector - manage your Source servers - srcds.exe auto-update in Windows

the latest version retains the config. i was using 0.4.

hoping that its updated to steamcmd now :>

br5dy 05-14-2013 04:21

Re: [v0.5] seDirector - manage your Source servers - srcds.exe auto-update in Windows

No SteamCMD support yet, but it's high on the list. When the full version comes out it will include support for it. Hopefully one of the betas will have it.

0.6 beta is released now.

Thank you!

Even with the second version of 0.7 the settings don't save and my entire server directory still gets deleted if I try to update.

Can you e-mail me with what game you're using, and the full path of srcds.exe?

Thank you,

Re: [v0.7] seDirector - manage your Source servers - srcds.exe auto-update in Windows

Entire server just got deleted when it automatically **tried** to update. I've used SteamCMD before.. figured it would be ok.. but guess not!

Don't use the auto update part until this gets sorted out people!

Now to figure out who recently donated and get all of my plugins back!!! WOOT! Thank jeebus I have a backup on another hard drive.

C:/tf2/tf was my install dir.

I sent something to this too http://ashersoftware.com/contact/

Hmm... I responded to your e-mail. I will look in to a way of stopping SteamCMD from overwriting the directory. I'm disabling the download for now.

Has anyone found a reason why SteamCMD does this sometimes but not all the time?

I've never seen, nor seen any reports of, SteamCMD deleting the install directory, so it's probably how you are calling it.

No, there is no function in seDirector that deletes the folder. Explanation to follow...
