Works all fine for me, maybe you have the same message twice in your config?

Please post your ServerAdvertisement.cfg, so we could check if you have something wrong with it.

I have eventually got this plug in to partially work. It displays the text but each single message comes up twice at the same time.

The message posted twice bug in my case was caused by having the plugin in the plugins folder twice. Go into plugins and delete ServerAdvertisement.smx. There should also be ServerAdvertisement1.7.smx. Leave that one, it worked for me.
