I'll check log. I'm looking on my server and I don't see a sourcebans.log? Or am I looking in the wrong location?

your logs would be placed here: addons/sourcemod/logs/sourcebans.log

Re: SourceBans (1.4.2) (UPDATE)

Hey guys,
Posted this in sourcemod general but i just want to be sure. Interested about sm_addban being under the rcon flag.

I know you can override commands to set a custom flag for it, though i don't want to do this because there has to be a reason behind sm_addban being under the rcon flag.

We have a multi server network running sourcebans, and all admins have access to adding and editing bans etc via the sourcebans webui.

Taking this into account that admins can ban in the webui, is there any harm in allowing sm_addban, and why is it under the rcon flag?

Cheers.

If your talking about the flag that I think your talking about you can change it with no issues at all...

Re: SourceBans (1.4.2) (UPDATE)

basebans.smx has it under the rcon flag too, so ask the SM team why they did that.

Re: SourceBans (1.4.2) (UPDATE)

I apologize if this has been mentioned before in the prevous 150+ pages. Would a notification to admins be possible if a player has a prior temp ban?

Player X has joined the game.
Player X has Y previous temporary bans in system.

Would just be a nice addition.

Thanks.

[sourcebans.smx] Database failure: [2002]: Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/tmp/mysql.sock' (2)

That is the only error that is in there.

http://www.tech-recipes.com/rx/762/s...-tmpmysqlsock/

I do not understand this completely. I do not know how to make a copy.

on VPS.

I have a dedicated server and it does not have mysql on it from what I know. Is it saying that DB Failure because it's trying to access it on the dedicated or because it's not set right on my VPS?

Re: SourceBans (1.4.2) (UPDATE)

@LBC562 -- If you don't have MySql, then Sbans will not work. It is required. So it fails to connect to a MySql since as you say, you do not have one.

@SourceBans team or someone w/ the knowledge --

I have tf2 and l4d servers. They are in their own server groups.

I have 4 game groups setup. Ignoring the web groups as not applicable to this.

A number of admins have been applied to their respective game groups and server groups.

Here is the question for example: TF2 group does not allow cheats cvar, but i'd like to allow cheats cvar for the L4D server(s).

How would/could that be accomplished? Link me please!?!?

Thanks in advance to your kindness.

Re: SourceBans (1.4.2) (UPDATE)

How hard is it to setup mysql? I thought you only needed mysql for the install on the webserver and not the game server as well.
